How You Can Help...

There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the year at ALAG including:

- Event organizing
- Backstage support
- Sponsorship management
- Guest artist

Event organizing
There are at least two fundraising events for ALAG each year. If you have skills at event organizing and management, we'd love to hear from you!

Backstage support
The grrrls perform several times a year at various venues around Nashville. If you'd like to lend a hand as stage crew, house manager, box office or board operator, let us know!

Technical & design support
We always need experienced set designers, video editors, set builders, graphic designers, copy editors, etc. If you have a gift in one of these areas, we'd love to know you better.

Guest artists
During the first three weeks of June, we invite different guest artists to spend an hour with the GRRRLs and share their experiences, knowledge, and talents in a variety of fields ranging anywhere from personal style, to art, to developing one’s intuition, to cultural sensitivity, to songwriting, to sustainable gardening and beyond!

A guest’s personal knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm on a topic that is also of interest to the GRRRLs is key. It is generally best when speakers can tie their topic to a specific activity or event. ALAG Co-Leaders are happy to help you organize or create your activity. Generally, guest artists’ hours are a combination of presentation, discussion and activity. With advanced planning, longer activities or field trips can be accommodated.

The Power of Positive:
ALAG strives to expose the GRRRLs to a world full of bright possibilities. While we realize that the road to growing up is tough, especially as a young woman, we refrain from any conversations or presentations that are fear-based or suggest that a young woman should alter her behavior based on a hostile society. We ask that all topics reflect an empowered and positive perspective.
